Geneva – The Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) welcomes the Global AIDS Strategy 2021-2026 adopted by the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) in March 2021. The Strategy lays out a framework for transformative action to reduce the inequalities that drive the AIDS epidemic, put people at the centre, and get every country and every community on track to end AIDS by 2030.

Access to quality affordable HIV medicines is at the heart of MPP’s work. Our 17 licences have already delivered billions of doses of generic HIV medicines in 141 countries. Voluntary licensing is set to continue to improve access and make available quality affordable medicines where they are needed. MPP, with its partners, stands ready to assist countries in ensuring equitable access to the HIV treatments they need.
