About MPP
The Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) is a United Nations-backed public health organization that improves access to affordable, quality-assured medicines and health technologies in low- and middle-income countries through voluntary licensing and technology transfer. Initially focused on HIV, hepatitis C, and tuberculosis, MPP has expanded its mandate to include essential medicines, COVID-19 therapeutics, vaccines, and pandemic preparedness, helping accelerate equitable access to innovative healthcare worldwide.
For more information, please see our website, www.medicinespatentpool.org
About the role
MPP has established voluntary licensing agreements for multiple innovative medicines, enabling generic manufacturers worldwide to develop affordable generic products, including novel formulations and fixed-dose combinations. Its portfolio now includes over 100 pharmaceutical development projects.
MPP’s Alliance Management (AM) team, within its broader Business Development (BD) team manages relationships with generic pharmaceutical partners and oversees the implementation and performance of licensed products. The daily work of the AM team combines managing relationships with generic partners, tracking projects progress, collecting, analysing, interpreting and communicating product data; mainly during quarterly review meetings (QRMs). The AM team is also responsible for monitoring licence compliance. The data collected by the AM team is used for assessing MPP impact and for reporting to the funders.
The role of Senior Associate, Alliance Management requires someone who can move comfortably between detailed datasets and external partner conversations: identifying inconsistencies or trends in data, understanding their business significance, asking the right follow-up questions of manufacturers, and translating information into clear insights for MPP colleagues, licensors, donors and other stakeholders.
The position reports to the Head of India Office and Alliance Management and works closely with Business Development, Legal, Policy, Technology Transfer, Operations and Communications.
